Prevent trouble before it arises
Put things in order before they exist
The giant pine tree grows from a tiny sprout
The journey of a thousand miles
Starts from beneath your feet
-Tao te Ching
Enjoying good health is our birthright, the gift of existing at our optimum level of being. In our fast-paced society, we have all but forgotten how to harmonize ourselves with the changing seasons. Our oldest known systems of medicine recognize the human being as a reflective microcosm of nature. Our own subtle changes take place inside, in rhythm with the world around us. The time has come to remember this ancient wisdom, to harmonize our bodies with natural time, and to send a resounding call to nature that we remember seasonal changes and how to respond to them.
Autumn is the METAL time of year and with it comes the opportunity to re-evaluate what is necessary. Come learn ancient philosophy combined with modern pragmatism to transition through the changing season. The METAL energy governs immunity in the body. Come learn how to strengthen this element and thus avoid unnecessary illness this Fall.
We will begin with some lecture (please bring your own paper and pen), and then shift into our practice of breath, movement, and meditation. Learn which stretches, pranayama, exercises and meditation support the METAL element and will assist your body’s natural, seasonal rhythm. Accessible to all levels - beginners are welcome.
