Underneath everything is an ever-living fire.  - Heraclitus

In this day and age, we must try to keep our eyes wide open and our awareness expanded, staying disciplined enough to perceive the seemingly significant and the minute.

Could the challenges that we experience on a personal as well as global level be a “calling us home” song? When practice comes from deep inside, it needs no reward.  It expands outward powerfully. To do so, we need to stay connected to the cavern of our heart. With such deep suffering in our world, the only answer is - keep practicing!

Join Lisa Schrempp for yoga practices in preparation for the Solstice and for the rest of your life.

Often people abandon their resolutions within a month of the new year. This year, consider letting go of creating resolutions and gift yourself with a yoga workshop designed to assist you in focusing on how you want to feel as you move through the new year.

Yin and flow yoga will be used to open your creative and intuitive energy channels. With a variety of journaling activities, you will have the opportunity to explore and get clear about what you really want to manifest this year. This insight will be used to create a vision board to support you in staying motivated to take the steps that will allow you to have an amazing 2018! We will end class with a brief Yoga Nidra practice to integrate our intentions.

Mudras and essential oils will be sprinkled through the workshop for added joy and inspiration!

Thursday-Sunday, January 11-14, 2018 in Aravaipa, AZ

As we move into a new year, we can take some time to set our intentions while elucidating our motivation for practice. While the term mindfulness has become mainstream, much of the deeper transformative power of mindfulness practice has been ignored. In this three-night retreat, we will investigate, discuss and practice the full mindfulness training of the Buddha as not just a technique but a way of life; a way of relating to experience from a place of freedom, peace, and joy.

The retreat will include a variety of asana practices including, vinyasa, yin and restorative; pranayama; meditation; chanting; periods of noble silence; dharma talks and discussion. There will be free time each day to hike, journal, rest and reflect. All are welcome to attend, though some experience is recommended.

Each instructor will provide a unique perspective into practice. Frank Jude Boccio, Laurent Baig and Ashley Celeste Leal will share their diverse experience with the common thread of dedicated practice and continued inquiry.

The retreat will begin with dinner at 5 pm on Thursday. Retreatants may arrive between 2 and 4 pm. We will conclude by noon on Sunday.

Discover the subtle and intuitive power of yin yoga in this 30-hour training designed for yoga teachers and serious students wishing to explore the practice more deeply. Through a unique series of long-held, relaxing floor postures, yin yoga balances the nervous system, heals joint tissues and increases our capacity for experiencing calm and peace.

Through the study of the essential yin yoga postures, this training delves into the mechanics of the body and its subtle energies, plus their effects on the muscles and joints in different body types. Posture variations will be studied along with sequencing, propping and assisting and techniques for working with older students and those with limited mobility. The course includes an inspection of how the postures relate to the body's energy channels along with accompanying chakra meditation practices. Yang yoga will also be explored – this is the active, strengthening counterpart to yin yoga.

This course also addresses some of the deeper questions that arise in yin yoga, like how deeply a yogi should go, reactions to pain, and the many therapeutic applications of yin yoga.

Each day includes slide show presentations, discussion, interactive demonstrations, and experiential yin yoga and meditation practices.

Debbie Daly, E-RYT 500 / YACEP, founded Tucson Yoga in 2003 and directed the studio for 10 years before moving to the San Francisco Bay Area. She leads yoga classes and yoga teacher trainings in yin yoga and voice practices in Northern California. Visit her website to learn more.
