A Georgia native, Josh Mongerson moved to Tucson after high school in 2013. It was shortly after moving here that Josh first practiced yoga and was immediately hooked. Something about it appealed to the side of him that grew up skateboarding and listening to heavy music. In 2017, after close to 3 years of dedicated practice, he became an instructor. Josh believes that the breath is the foundation of the yoga practice. With strong, alignment-based cueing, his teaching aims to pair the breath with movement, challenging the practitioner both mentally and physically.
Since receiving his 200-hour teacher training, he continues to further his study of yoga by practicing Ashtanga at Tucson Yoga, studying yoga philosophy and meditating. When Josh isn’t teaching yoga, he is hanging out with his girlfriend, hiking in the beautiful Southwest, cooking vegan food and walking his dog, Luka.
